Europe Ministry Trip April-May 2024

 

Join Us In European Ministry!

"Come over...and help us." Acts 16:9

Paul's invitation to take the gospel to Europe was a simple one. "Come and help us!" Bringing the love of God and the truth of the gospel is the greatest help we can give!

On Friday, April 5 we will leave for a visit to our brothers and sisters who are faithfully leading and serving the church in Ukraine, Germany, and Estonia. In Ukraine we will meet with local and national leaders of the Ukrainian Baptist Union. We will also participate in ministry and training to Church Planter couples from more than 20 Ukrainian oblasts, and regional leaders of Church Planting movements across the country. We plan to be there for two weeks.

On April 24-26 we will make our way to Munich, Germany, where we will spend a day with our dear friends and fellow laborers, Kyle and Matilda Tromanhauser. The Tromanhauser family has been faithfully working at planting an International congregation in this strategic city for 8 years. In recent months, Kyle has faced some medical challenges, and they are experiencing the “empty nest” for the first time (always a tough adjustment!). We are excited to have a brief, but precious visit opportunity with them.

On the 26th we will make our way to Estonia. For 9 days, we will visit churches, camps, seminaries, and ministry partners in Tallinn and Tartu. We’ll be joining a ministry team led by Dr. Bill Ankerberg, which will include many Converge pastors and leaders from around the United States.

We’re inviting you to join us on this journey! Your prayers for us are essential to the fruitfulness of our ministry. As Paul told the church in Corinth, "And you are helping us by praying for us. Then many people will give thanks because God has graciously answered so many prayers for our safety." Please use the attached Prayer Calendar to pray for us each day as we travel, listen, teach, preach, encourage, learn, and worship over the coming 5 weeks. A Ministry Visit to War-torn Ukraine

Tania, Bob, and Dennis at Salvation Church in Rivne In September, three staff members of Converge International Ministries traveled to Ukraine. Tania Martin, Director of Mobilization (who spent 11 years ministering there), went in late August to minister alongside the congregation of Salvation Church in Rivne and encourage them. Dennis McMains, Regional Director of the Europe and Mediterranean Region, and Bob Marsh, Impact Team Leader, arrived in the capitol city of Kyiv on August 31.  Converge has a long history of working in Ukraine. Winter 2023: UKRAINE UPDATE

UKRAINE WEEK IN DC  Bob was invited to attend Ukraine Week in DC from February 1-4. It was the second year Bob has attended this event, which is coordinated around the US Congressional National Prayer Breakfast. The event gathers Ukrainian and American leaders in ministry, government, and business for a week of prayer,  discussion, and planning for the future. It was held at various venues around the US Capitol city, including the Ukraine House, The Bible Museum, The Washington Hilton Hotel, and The Capitol Hill Club.    For Bob, it was a great time of reconnecting with ministry leaders from the Ukrainian church, and networking with other ministries who work and serve there. After a year of zoom calls and forced distance, it was wonderful to warmly embrace national leaders, such as former Ukrainian Parliament Member Pavel Unguryan, and Snr. Vice President of the Baptist Union of Ukraine, Igor Bandura, along with regional leaders Ivan Kunderenko and Viktor Puhach.    A special honor for

Mission Catalyst Team Updates

Bob serves as the Mission Catalyst Team Leader for Converge Euro-Med. Which implies that he provides leadership to a team - and what a team it is! Here are a few updates from our colleagues. Drew & Sarah Robertson are the newest members of our team. Drew serves as Ministry Catalyst for our region's Great Sea Initiative. In that role he connects with ministry leaders in the 20 nations that surround the Mediterranean Sea. He and Sarah served for nearly a decade in Lebanon with their three children.  Drew is c urrently   traveling within the region - first to Lebanon to connect with ministry partners in Tyre and Sidon. From there he'll be headed to Malta, where he's been invited to a gathering of movement leaders from all across area.
